The Aanderaa WLR7 is a rugged, self-contained, high-precision water level recorder designed for deployment on the seabed to monitor ocean water levels. Utilizing a high-accuracy quartz pressure sensor, the WLR7 calculates water levels through hydrostatic pressure readings, while also capturing temperature and optional conductivity data at scheduled intervals.
Key features include:
Quartz Pressure Sensor with integration time of 40 seconds to eliminate wave-induced fluctuations.
Temperature Sensor using a thermistor-based oscillator with ±0.1°C accuracy.
Optional Conductivity Sensor with precise 0.1% resolution.
Acoustic Telemetry (standard on WLR7) allowing real-time data transmission up to 800m using a 16.384 kHz signal.
Data Storage via DSU 2990 or 2990E, capable of storing up to 262,000 10-bit words.
Long Battery Life of up to 343 days with all five channels recorded at 10-minute intervals.
Durable Construction from nickel-plated bronze and stainless acid-proof steel with an epoxy coating.
Included Mooring Frame for easy seabed installation.
Applications: Coastal monitoring, tidal studies, underwater research, and long-term oceanographic data collection.
