The Mini RovNav is a compact, remote acoustic transceiver developed for accurate subsea positioning of mobile targets such as ROVs and towfish in deepwater environments. Designed to work within a Long BaseLine (LBL) array, the Mini RovNav provides precise range measurements to seabed transponders, with depth data transmitted to the surface for real-time positioning.
The system operates using Medium Frequency (18-36 kHz) or Extra High Frequency (50-110 kHz) and supports both USBL and LBL positioning systems, making it versatile for a wide range of applications. It enables high accuracy, short-range EHF equipment to be used in deepwater. The Mini RovNav can be used for mobile subsea target positioningwithout the need for direct ranging or telemetry to the surface vessel.
