The Sonardyne Ranger 2 is a high-performance USBL (Ultra Short BaseLine) system designed for long-range subsea target tracking and position referencing. It is specifically engineered for deep-water environments and works seamlessly for ROVs, AUVs, and towfish. Built on Sonardyne’s 6G® technology, it offers high precision and wide coverage (beyond 6,000 meters), making it ideal for surveying, drilling, and dynamic positioning (DP) reference.
The Ranger 2 is available in two versions Standard – Tracks up to 10 subsea targets simultaneously with 1-second updates and Pro – Designed for more complex operations, allowing unlimited subsea targets to be tracked, and supports multi-transceiver and INS integration.
With Wideband 2®, the system provides fast data transmission, precise ranging, and high immunity to noise and multipath signals. This system is fully compatible with Sonardyne’s 6G® transponder family, ensuring seamless operation and greater efficiency in subsea projects.
