The IXSEA ROVINS (Remotely Operated Vehicle Inertial Navigation System) is a survey-grade gyrocompass and full-featured Inertial Navigation System (INS) designed for offshore survey and subsea construction applications. Capable of functioning at depths of up to 3,000 meters, it offers real-time heading, attitude, and positioning data. The system utilizes fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) technology and strap-down inertial measurement units (IMUs), which provide high precision without the need for mechanical parts.
The ROVINS is a flexible and upgradeable system, allowing users to operate in “gyro-only” mode for basic heading control or upgrade to full INS functionality. This versatility makes it an ideal solution for subsea operations requiring high-accuracy positioning and orientation, such as ROV navigation, marine surveying, dredging, and constructionprojects.
Additionally, ROVINS is compatible with standard surface and subsea positioning systems such as GPS, USBL, DVL, and depth sensors, ensuring seamless integration into existing survey setups.
