The OceanScan Underwater A-Scan UT System MK2 is designed for subsea ultrasonic inspections, including full weld inspection and thickness gauging. This lightweight, portable, and easy-to-operate system is ideal for both surface and subsea use, providing comprehensive testing capabilities. It features a topside control unit with full functionalities like DAC (Distance Amplitude Correction), Echo-Echo, and data logging. The system is compatible with a range of probes, providing flexibility for different inspection tasks.

Key features include:

  • Full Topside Control: Includes DAC, Echo-Echo, and data logging for enhanced testing capabilities.

  • Versatile Probes: Comes with a Twin 0° 5 MHz compression probe, plus a full set of single crystal angle probes (45°, 60°, and 70°) with wet-mateable subsea connectors.

  • User-Friendly Operation: The subsea unit allows for easy probe changes underwater.

  • iScope Display: The topside unit features a 7″ display that mirrors the UT Set image or displays a combination of selected images. It can also receive up to three additional video or camera inputs, with the option to record directly to PC or USB.

  • Subsea Depth Rating: Rated to 250 meters for subsea inspections, providing reliable performance in challenging underwater conditions.

  • Durability and Portability: The topside unit is housed in a rugged 1500 Pelicase for ease of transport and protection.

  • Safety Features: Includes a subsea leak detector and a ground fault indicator with test/reset functionality.

  • Diver Unit Power Requirement: 48V supplied from topside control unit.

  • Diver Unit Display: 7″ Dicoll display with 640 x 480 pixel resolution.

  • Connectors: 2 x 4-way wet-mateable subsea pod connectors.

  • Maximum Depth: 250 meters.

  • Topside Unit Power Requirement: 110VAC or 240VAC.

  • Video Output: Composite video output channel for additional camera inputs.

  • Flaw Detector Compatibility: Compatible with any UT set with VGA output and high energy setting.
